The New York Times has an extensive obituary today reviewing the career of the revered klezmer clarinetist German Goldenshteyn.

I read that article plus some others that came up on Google. My main reason was because I had never heard of this man. What a pleasant surprise to hear sound clips on the website selling his and other Klezmer cds. His passing is surely a significant loss to the clarinet community.

That CD was "produced" in a hotel room with 2, maybe 3 takes per song. Even so, there is a lot of cool and unfamiliar (to us) material on it.
