 Vandoren M13 mouthpiece

I just purchased a Vandoren M13 mouthpiece that I used on my old clarinet, and old Edgeware Boosey and Hawkes. I was absolutely astounded with the increased quality of my overall sound -- clear tone throughout the range, far better intonation, increased range (I am above the second G above the trble staff with using some of the Opperman fingerings). I also purchased a new E11 and gained an increased ease of play. So now the complete setup is a Buffet E11, with a Vandoren M13 (A=440), a BG revalation Ligature, paired with a Rigotti Gold 3 Medium reed.

I have used the M13 on a couple of other clarinets, and have noticed quite a bit of increased response, and range that I could never get with a B45 or a Hite premier.

Are my experiences with the M13 common. I am really sold on this mouthpiece.

There are a couple of threads on this. Do search on the BB. Check it out.

The M13 was designed to work well with Buffet clarinets. That's probably why you're enjoying it so much. I agree that it is a better choice (in most cases) than the more popular B45. And, yes, there are many threads about the M13 here on the bboard.

Anybody who likes the M13 should also try the M13 lyre and M15 mouthpieces too. All three designs are fairly similar.

I enjoy it just as much on my Selmer Series 10.

Thanks,

I should have done a little research first. BTW, I did try the M13 Lyre. I was a little more pleased with the M13 results.

Once again, thanks all
