more of clarinet ensemble on YouTube

As so many of you were kind enough to watch and send encouraging comments on the clarinet ensemble clips I posted on "YouTube", I have added a few more from another concert they gave in May.

I would like to add that all the young people involved were greatly boosted by all the comments and are now practising harder and longer than ever, so thanks very much for the same.

Here is the link to the first clip (you can follow the rest from there)

A very lovely choir rendition; I went on to view the other movements. It was abundantly clear a lot of individual practice went into the final performance. As well, the bassist didn't appear to suffer any shortage of testosterone. One suggestion: lose the conductor; you don't need one on that piece and he just detracts attention from the music and "real" performers. Just listen/play together and make eye contact ... you should be doing that anyway. v/r Ken

He's their teacher!!!

Yes, they have been working hard to build up a wider repertoire (weekends included- a real sacrifice for teenagers).

I think they are already looking at new pieces and have been invited to play in Gernika (of Picasso fame) on 22nd June (Europe Music Day).

If you (or anyone on this BBoard) have any suggestions as to future pieces, they would be very welcome.

Don't know about the liagture, but will ask him.

They are from the town of Leioa - Basque Country- Spain.

Hard working, enthusiastic teacher and students, and the encouraging atmosphere in the conservatory...

Definitely alot of testerone in the Basses. Almost too much. Those folks could balance out 3 times as many Soprano Clarinets as there are in the video! Who knows, it's probably a result of being told to play louder a whole lot. Good for them!
