I am trying to locate the 1st clarinet part to the Shostakovich Cello Concerto No 1 in Eb Maj. I will be playing this in a while
and REALLY need to get a jump on learning the part. [ Snipped - GBK ]
THANX!

I know what you mean by getting a jump on this part. I was asked to sub the 1st part at 5 days notice from cold ! In retrospect I should have said "NO WAY".
I appreciate this is no help to you, but it must be, (to my taste anyway), one of the most unsatisfying but difficult pieces I've ever played. (actually "played" is a bit strong) Be very aware....there's no place to hide with these nasty high altissimo passages, as for time signatures..well.
Help please, for Sheri to locate the part well before she needs it !!!!
Not in the OM CD rom Library yet.

If you can't get hold of the part why don't you get the score out?

Thanx to all for your suggestions.
I was under the impression that this was published by Sikorski and that rentals were handled by Schirmer. I was just hopeful--though not particularly optimistic--that it might also be available through some academic library as well. Any idea of what Schirmer charges for a rental???
Yes. I do have the study score. Unfortunately, the old gray mare's eyes just ain't what they used to be :-)
Thanx for your help guys!!

Could be...
My original score (1966) shows the first publishers as MCA Music / Leeds Music.
However, G. Schirmer is currently handling the rentals...GBK
