Hi all, I'm doing a minor recital two semesters for now. Are there any suggestions for pieces that I should play that would 'wow' the audience? Besides the usual Mozart and Weber pieces ..

Look at Bernard Heinrich Crusell's 2nd concerto. He was a Finnish clarinetist who visited Europe. There, he evidently ran into Stadler (Mozarts clarinet-playing buddy) and got inspired. His second has a really gorgeous second movement (Andante Pastorale) and som very unusual use of 1/32 notes in the first movement.

It is in G-minor (Aminor concert) and makes wonderful use of the throat Bb. Perhaps sort of an in-your-face dazzle for those clarinetists who hate the airy sound of that note. (Use a resonance fingering.)

I can only speak for myself when I say what I would like the most to hear in a concert is something I haven't heard before.

You might want to consider opening the recital by playing something unaccompanied.

Aside from the Stravinsky, there are MANY quality pieces for solo clarinet.

Don't forget to check out some Baroque transcriptions, as well...GBK
