 Conn Clarinet Mouthpieces
Author: pmgoff78

Howdy,

Does anyone know of the significance of the numbers assigned to Conn Precision mouthpieces. Moreover, of what quality are the precision mouthpieces? Student, intermediate, pro, etc.?

Thanks!

Conn clarinets were pro quality back in the 30s-40s. After that - not so much. I assume that as go the clarinets, so go the mouthpieces.

Artie Shaw advertised one of the new Conns in the 50s and I think it may have been a factor in his decision to give up playing. :-)
