I was just wondering --- What do you think of George Smith mouthpieces?

I love it! It’s better than anything else I’ve ever played. My instrument is more responsive and the sound is much smoother and warmer. It even seemed to take the edginess off of nasty notes like clarion E and F#. It’s very evenly voiced and tends to be more reed-friendly than other mouthpiece (mp) I’ve had.

Also, when I was looking for a new mp I wanted to talk to the maker personally. I found Mr. Smith to be more accessible than the two other custom makers I was considering. He took time to talk to me on the phone about my particular issues and then sent me three mps to try out. One day I’d like to try a Ridenour for the heck of it (I play his Bass Clarinet mouthpiece and it’s awesome). But, I’m very happy with the Greg Smith.

I agree with Mike. I think that these are great mouthpieces. I have one for myself and one for my daughter.

I have a greg Smith mouthpiece I love. I had great service from Greg, and an excellent service from the mouthpiece.

Bill;

I recently purchased a Greg Smith MP 1+ and Chadash barrel. Together they altered my intonation. All for the good. So both my tuning and timbre have been improved. I'm very pleased with the results. I intend to get another one as a backup MP.

My opinion from a sample of one.

Cheers,

Paul
