Hello
I bought a CD of Benny Goodman with the piece in the title by Morton Gould. Does anyone know if there are other recordings of this piece?
Thanks.

Chicago Symphony Orchestra's John Bruce Yeh included it on his CD titled, EBONY CONCERTO. Also has the Artie Shaw, CONCERTO FOR CLARINET done with the DePaul Jazz Ensemble.

John Yeh's and Goodman's recordings are probably the most readily known within pro concert band circles. I would also check around with active duty military and college wind bands for project or tour recordings; score and parts are likely still under rental.
I thought I saw John Moses write he recorded/performed the piece, live and/or studio I cannot recall ... or it could've been the Copland. I of course, misplaced my own 1989 recording with the US Air Force Band of the Pacific ... just pile on another middle-aged moment. v/r Ken

This piece is on I believe Disc 7 of the Marine Band Bicentennial Collection. Quite a good recording I might add.
