 Three Miniatures (Original Composition)
Author: Kevin
Date:   2006-05-07 03:59

Hi all,

A few weeks ago I received a performance of a set of three little pieces I composed for clarinet and piano by faculty at the Mannes College of Music here in New York City.

Today, I received the recording, and I thought that there might be interest here on this board in listening as well as looking at the score.

So...the mp3 can be found at either http://s54.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=02RWHH0KCDGXX2UEVACGWZ6USR (where it can be downloaded for 7 days or 25 downloads, whichever comes first.) or at the less reliable http://www.geocities.com/augmented4ths/ThreeMiniatures.mp3 (tends to work better if you copy/paste the link and hit 'enter' rather than clicking.)

As you can probably guess, comments would be very much appreciated.

Pretty nice. Can't say I cared for the first movement, but the second and third are pretty cool. Also nice that you wrote it for clarinet in A.

Are we allowed to play them? (With the name of the composers in large letters, of course...)

Very nice and pleasing to the ear. I do trust that you have protected yourself with publishing, copyright, etc.? As a writer I experienced having things stolen from me when I was much younger. A friend's mother was working for a publishing house in St. Louis and she called my friend one day and told her the magazine she worked for had just published a play that she remembered I had written. It was word for word except the title. I had performed it with a local group and hadn't thought anything of it until she reported it. The play got a lot of acclaim for the thief. However, I'm sure it caught up with him later on when he couldn't produce work like that.

bawa, I'd be glad to have my pieces performed without royalty granted a copy of the printed program be mailed to me.
