 best repair in ny

Hello,

I own an R13 and need a few repairs. It seems that one of the rods is bent, and so one of the keys sticks. Also, I would need to change pads and have some general cleaning/maintenance. I have already had the rod repaired one before, but the problem came back after a few weeks. Would anyone know the best repairmen in New York City or Westchester, NY? I hope that this is an appropriate topic. Please disregard this post if it is not. Thanks!

Try Jimmy Yan. He's repaired my horns a couple of times and I've found his work to be of excellent quality.

Hello,

The best person I've used is Wojtek Komsta. Contact me off-line, if you wish, for his contact info. He's in Jersey City.

If the rod is bent, again, have the alignment of the posts checked.

There may also be a fixation problem if the post is rotating...

Me, I would send it off to Jonathan Butler. He's faster, even by mail and the results are terrifice (often at less cost than the Manhattan repairs...)

"Me, I would send it off to Jonathan Butler."

Butler is good, but he's not in NY. By that I mean, working closely with any of the great repairpeople here in NYC, in invaluable. Watching what they do means a lot, and they are wonderfully qualified to do the most complicated repairs. The real benefit is that you take your Clarinet home that very same day...fixed.

Definately Guy Chadash. The man is a genius and will do wonders for your clarinet. He is so thorough and precise but he is pricey. Google his name and his website should come up. He is around 41st street.

A couple of friends of mine used the repairman at Roberto's shop that John Moses recommended above and they told me he was excellent.

I would reallyt recommend to not ship your instrument for repair if possible, and in an area with several very good repairmen it is really not needed.

Hi Vytas:
"I'm located in South River, New Jersey."
Do you see people at your shop in NJ? How far are you from NYC?
What's your phone number, if you do work in our area?
Nice to know you're around.
