I've been considering this piece for my upcoming recital and not quite sure where to look for the music. Has anyone worked on this piece and know of a "standard" publisher of this work? This is not to be confused with Rozsa's Sonatina. Also, i have a recording of Charles Neidich playing the piece, anyone know of any other really wonderful recordings to listen to so that i might get some different interpretations under my belt?

Tried searching for Rozsa sonata with Neidich or anyone and couldn't find it. I'd like to know more about the recording you have.

I am listening to a recording of the Rozsa Sonata right now. Put put by Crystal Records. Larry Combs is the clarinetist. The CD has both the Sonata and the Sonatina on it. Larry Combs previous had recorded the Sonatina for cassette with other ensemble music but without the Sonata. The music on the cassette was reissued on CD along with the Sonata. So for those looking for a recording of the Rozsa Sonata, it's out there.

I played the sonatina a year or so ago and loved the piece. Is the sonata any good? Similar in style and difficulty to the sonatina?

I just received a Cd with Larry Combs playing both the Roza Sonata and Sonotina. He sounds wonderful on it and should be listened to. I also just received a copy of a recital where Ron Ruben (former clarinetist and Bass clarinetist with the Philly orchestra) played the Sonata on Clarinet and then turned around and did it on bass. This is truly scary playing. He has that Old Philly sound that I grew up hearing! And I never knew there was a philly bass sound too, so I'm busy doing some lick copping!!! I'm 46 and sounding like either one of these two guys is what I want to do when I grow up!
