I have just aquired a Wood & Ivy clarinet that is in good playing condition. It is made of Boxwood with Ivory rings and nine keys. It is stamped as being made at 50 New Compton St. Soho. Could anyone give me any information on these clarinet makers?
As I have said it is in good playing condition and I would like to keep it that way. Has anyone any advice on how I can look after them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Regards

Going by the Anthony Baines book it would have been made between 1836-1847 - prior to Wood & Ivy, the company was called Geo. Wood (1829-1836) and before that they were Jas. Wood & Son (before 1817-1829) all at the same address - 50 New Compton St.
