Thank you for the link. Are you in Korea? If you are, what is the classical clarinet/music scene like out there? I am a Korean-American clarinetist here at The United States Naval Academy Band and I am very curious about the music scene back in the home land.

Hi, clarinetfreak,
As a pure amateur, I cannot tell you with authority what the classical clarinet/music scene is like in Korea.
However, based on what I heard from my teacher(s) and other pros in the field, what little I can say is this: Korea is no different than any other country in the world when it comes to music. i.e. many years of hard work/practising starting from young age, prestigious degrees (preferably from abroad) needed, scarce vacancies in major orchestras, ect.
Maybe I'm wrong, but that was the impression and information I have.
If you need a more knowledgeable information from a professional clarinetist, ask Ms.Heejung Lucia Kye, one of the major clarinetists in Korea. Her website : www.iloveclarinet.com.
