just looking for a little advice here...
currently i am a nurse and going back to school for my associates so that i can become an RN. i will start in may and if everything goes according to planned finish in may of 2007.
But i have always LOVED music....did the whole all-state thing, HBOA, ect...so i got to thinking that i really want to go back for my music degree after i finish up with my nursing. at this point at least i can't see my self being a "band director" but i would like to teach at a college level....the thing is the local university does not have performance degrees....so the head of the dept worked my plan up as a Bacholar of Arts in music. Would it be better to get a Bacholar of Music Ed. or could i also teach at a high school level with this BA if the college thing didn't work out?? I know i would need grad school and that brings me to my next question of what would my degree be there?? any suggestions or info will be most appreciated....just trying to get my foot back in the door and continue what i have found i miss so much!!! Thanks in advance, steph

Ask these question of the advisor in the undergraduate program you are considering. Also ask what it will take for you to come out of that degree program with a teaching certificate.
