 Help! Cannot Find Fruhling Trio
Author: ClarinetRepublican

I'm playing a recital and I heard a recording of tthe Fruhling Trio with Michael Collins and Steven Isserlis and I fell in love with it.

Unfortunately, the music seems to have gone out of print and Eble music said that if they were to find it, it would take many months for me to get the music. Does anyone have any idea where I can get this? Or if you have a copy you loan out or anything would be great.

To the best of my knowledge the trio hasn't been publsihed. A pity, because it's a beautiful piece.

I know a cellist who was in the same position as you. She went to a Boston Symphony concert that Isserlis performed at and approached him about this. He said it was difficult to acquire, and explained how to do so. She eventually did acquire the music, and I'm waiting to hear back from her about this. I'll post the information as soon as I receive it.

Hello,
I work at Special Collections in Performing Arts at the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library at the University of Maryland. We are the home of the International Clarinet Association Research Center, and we have over 7000 scores to loan out. We have the Fruhling Trio that you seek! It is score number 535 in our database, and it's on the shelf. Scores are available for loan only to ICA members or members of the University of Maryland community. All borrowers must provide proof of ICA membership when submitting their order. A good way to do this is to photocopy the card that comes with your magazine which has your member number on it. Go to http://www.lib.umd.edu/PAL/SCPA/icarcinfo.html#ORD
and follow the instructions. Have fun.

CR...you are right to love this piece. I have a copy, which I asked Verlag Thomi-Berg of Munich to print for me. It was very expensive, but came in the most protective packaging I have ever seen. It's larger than A4. When I get their website, I'll edit this post and add it in.

Here it is.....email them and ask for a copy of this generally out of print piece. Actually to be out of print is a travesty as it is one of the most wonderful pieces of this genre, and one which I hope to be performing later this year.
