Mozart clarinet concerto

Hello there.

Does anyone know if there's a recording available of the Barenreiter edition of the Mozart clarinet concerto?

If there is, I wouldn't want to hear it.

Now that I've got your attention, let me explain:

The primary purpose of the Barenreiter edition was to get rid of all of the articulation and dynamic markings that the first publishers of the piece put in. These markings certainly did not appear in the manuscript. The role of the performer today is to take this outline of notes and put his or her own interpretation of articulation and dynamics in. It's very liberating to be able to mark them, if you wish, without trying to "cross out" the printed markings.

As a result, no recording will come close to what you see on the page of the Barenreiter. Even the user of a basset clarinet could choose torearrange actual notes in the extended range portions. There is no way of knowing what the original notes were, anyway.

I've used this edition for years, and it is by far the best to play. But no recording will reflect the edition.
