I have Selmer Paris L296 (yes, a three-digit horn). But, despite the "L" designation, I believe - based on the bell shape, tone hole distribution, and joint size - that this clarinet is made after the "K series" pattern. I don't think at this point they had begun making the better-known L (and M and N series) horns.
This is a fabulous clarinet! When paired with a very old "Qualite Superieure" Chedeville blank, it's a wonderful set-up. I can only imagine that the "K series" horns were just as grand. Hard to describe the sound - but, nice!!!
Any K series players out there?
Bill.
