I'm looking for a chamber work to pair with Ireland Fantasy-Sonata...only trouble is that as it's as an entry for an Ireland prize, the work must be by Ireland and I'm coming up short.
I have found details of the sextet with horn and string quartet, but am much more interested in the Trio in D for clarinet, 'cello and piano.
There is talk on the Steve Fox website of this work being (re?)published by June Emeron, but I can't find it in their catalogue. Has anybody performed this work or managed to get hold of it?

Well i would'nt worry about the trio it is not being published yet. Play the Fantasy Sonata. I won the John Ireland Chamber Music Prize with the work in 2000/01 when i was at the Birmingham Conservatoire. It will count cause it's a true duo with piano.
Good Luck

if the Trio is anything like the Fantasy Sonata, i'm interested- can you let us know your progress on getting this music after you've heard back from Steven Fox?
thanks

Peter, it's the same prize I'm looking to enter.
You just played the Fantasy Sonata? It specifies a 20 minute programme...
Some progress made Donald already, June Emerson are overcoming some copyright issues and then plan to issue the work later this year.
Ken, have also dropped Steve an e-mail.

Yes Danny Boy, just did the Fantasy Sonata, in the same competition i was in a group that played the Sextet also, but I won the whole thing with the Sonata.
Good luck with it and give my regards to Michael
