Have tried to search for serial 81***, but no joy even finding a list of serial nos, as yet.
Any quick leads ?
or is it still a WGChase?
Thanks in advance,
BobT

Hi Bob - I looked at my Noblet Paris Eb cl, it has an N above the logo, France below, ser. # 31XXX, and buying it from a friend in the 1980's, would guess it dates back to the 1960's when he was a music student. I know nearly nothing about the Leblanc, Noblet, Normandy, Vito numbering systems. My ?1980's Leb L7 ser is 41,XXX. Others have said that some info is available by phone to Leblanc persons. Others please help. Don
Thanx, Mark, Don

Thanks for your thoughts Don.
I'll give Leblanc a bell and see what we can find out.

When you find out, please let me know how old it is, and how you think it plays. I have one, and like it a lot.

I have a Noblet 45 Artist Bb I bought new in France in 1965 (Diamond emblem). It is serial 54123 and was made in 1964 according to Leblanc (I called their phone number and asked). This may help you estimate the age of yours.

I just checked my Noblet C, and it's 86xxx. Since I got it new in 1992 or 93, this may help you determine the date.

Thanks again folks, I'm onto it, but in the meantime, I await it's arrival from a worldwide internet auction system, and will be able to be more specific with the full number. I'll post with findings.

Thanks Steve,
From your list, this dates my 81*** Noblet to 1969. This confirms the vendors estimate of having had it for 25 yrs but not being the first owner.
However Chris, your last post doesn't seem to conform unless a new numbering system for later models has reverted to , for 1990onward models.
On the other hand, could there be a letter prefix that has worn off ?
I received the instrument today and it plays beautifully with my Peter Eaton mouthpiece. Very little lipping of the throat tones necessary for tuning. I will however, need to either get a thin shim put in the top of the barrel or have a dedicated m/p recorked for fit.
Thanks to all for the information.
