Question about mouthpieces

I'm a "returning" player and greatly appreciate the collective wisdom of this board. I've often read that one mouthpiece or another is much easier to articulate - which I read as " easier to tongue ", first, is that a correct reading ? If so, what makes a mouthpiece easier to articulate with. Is it a more closed tip ? I currently have a M15 mouthpiece and use Vandoren V12 3.5's and recently tried (and like) the FOF 3.75's. Just as an example, is it likely that I might find a 5RV mouthpiece easier to articulate than my M15 ? I know I'd need to try, but I'm curious if teachers recommend the more open models for new students for ease of articulations. While I'm at it, thanks to everyone who recommended the HITE books - they are terrific !

If only it were that simple! B40, B45 and B45 dot all play very differently for me despite having the same facing.
