This is not clarinet related, but it is music related. If inappropriate to post, I apologize.
We're taking 80 high school chorusters to NYC for a choral festival this spring. Where to take them that they will enjoy, without breaking the budget? I'm sure many of you have great ideas. We've got tickets for The Producers.
Please feel free to email me directly. Thank you for your help.

A fun thing to do: take the subway to Coney Island. If late enough in the Spring the Cyclone might be open - other rides and amusements too. Then walk down the boardwalk, all 80 of you, to Brighton Beach and eat Russian food al fresco by the beach.

A ride on the Staten Island Ferry is something I really enjoyed as a teenager (and you will not believe the fare). Just over and back for the best view in town.

Hank - did you know that the Staten Island Ferry fare is no longer a nickel?
That's right - it's completely free for passengers (has been for a few years). Great idea for 80 kids.

LarryB,
Yes, I knew and that was my little joke ("and you will not believe the fare").
When I went with my dad on this trip the first time in about 1955 we ate some of the great pretzels they sold. Do they still sell them?

Hank,
I don't know about the pretzels. I don't ride the ferry much since I have no need to go to Staten Island. I bet they probably serve lattes now.
