Have just repaired a Selmer Centered Tone Bb Serial Number PN26XX. Despite correcting all leaks, etc, the horn just seems dead, at least with my usual mouthpiece and reed setup (which works on my own CT). The bore seems to be narrower than other CTs I've come across. Does anyone know what the "N' in the PN 26XX indicates? I've tried several barrels, but it just doesn't seem to respond. Any suggestions on "livening" this poor old fellow up?

My good CT is a P 4XXX [1954], earlier I had a P 22XX, just not as good , WHY ?? Dont know of the PN, could it be a Selmer N series body with P series keywork? Mine is 15.0 mm on both ends of the U J. It plays best with the largest dia. barrel I can find ! Measure both pieces. I have also an L series R I FB [1932], not at all great !! Luck, Don
Thanx, Mark, Don

I've got 4 CTs now - an N.1 (17/6) Bb - N84xx,
an N.6 (19/7) pair: Bb - N69xx, A - P10xx,
and an N.8 (full Boehm 20/7) Bb - R44xx with a transplanted top joint (with an * above the serial no.)
Unusual to see the prefix 'PN' though.

I'll be watching this thread closely. Cannot IMAGINE what the serial number prefix "PN" means. I have an "N" and I have a "P," but this is a mystery. Vytas?!?!?!
Bill.
