 Pitch of flute and clarinet

My friend is playing flute in an orchestra.She is grumbling that clarinet player's pitch tendency is quite reverse.In pp clarinet tends to be sharp whereas flute flat.The clarinet player is grumbling the quite reverse thing about her.Is this general tendency?

Yes the pitch tendency of clarinets and flutes run in opposite directions. Thus when playing together the players must listen and each work to stay in tune.
