In attempting to write program notes for my senior recital, I've run across the dilemma of how to approach the "Weber" Introduction, Theme, and Variations. All the information I'm finding states that Weber didn't write it and that instead, Joseph Kuffner did. Unfortunately, I'm also finding with research that history hasn't treated Kuffner well and so I'm at a relative loss for information on his life, his works, etc. I've checked Groves online and also searched through my college library's online journals for articles on Kuffner to no avail. At this point I'm simply looking for leads for any information I can find on him. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I wrote an article on Josef Küffner and his works for clarinet. It was published in "The Clarinet", vol.13, no 4, (Summer 1986), page 34.
