Please remember that if you don't own legally taken pictures or you aren't the author of a document under copyright then you & I need permission to post them up the BBoard. Even if you have permission to have a copy, that doesn't imply I have permission to put them up for the world to see.
Make sure I get a statement saying it's "OK" from the owner.

Mark:
To clarify because I would like to post some pictures of historical clarinets ...
I own the clarinets and take my own pictures and upload them to the board.
Can I:
a) put my own copyright on them and attach a note (either in an email or on the body of picture) that permission is granted to Woodwind.org to use-store them?
Or do I have to:
b) let you copyright them?

Certainly. A copyright notice on the picture + a note to me would be best for both you & I.

No. You never need to assign copyright to me; I just need the permission from you.
