Has anyone had any experience with a Rossi clarinet? I've never played one and am wondering if anyone has. I saw one and really like the look, especially the rosewood. Am also interested in the fact of the elimination of one of the joints... Thanks.

Ken: I have an A Rossi clarinet in rosewood, french bore. It is a wonderful instrument. The sound is very beautiful, with a lot of harmonics, easy reponse. When I change my Bb, I will purchase a Rossi one. The one body allows a pefect pitch of the C#/G# and high F, and the side key design reduce condensation problems. It is excellent for chamber music.

The Rossi clarinet appears to be the ultimate premium pro grade soprano clarinet on the market today. The price reflects it, too.
If money were no object, I'd go for a Rossi. It appears to be a true work of art. I drool over a picture of it every time I get a new catalog from one of the major etailers. It's simply gorgeous! Unfortunately, it's twice the price of my premium pro grade soprano clarinet. And yes, money is always a significant barrier to most folks.
