S-K "Pinch" Bb Mechanism

Yesterday I mentioned on the Chat session that I was overhauling a "Stubbins" [made by Noblet] clarinet which has the above, and is the first I've had my hands on! For those interested, the patent # is US 2,508,550 and is both pictured and discussed by Brymer pg 52 +. Yes, it does give as good a mid-staff Bb as does the A + trill-key combination, [requiring the A + Register key]. Brymer says that the 12ths are better with a proper-sized register vent hole, my old ears couldn't detect it however, prob. takes more acquaintance. Just wanted to report. Don
