I just got the new WW&BW catalog and there is a bass clarinet in there with the Woodwind name on it for $850. Do any of you bass clarinetist know anything about this instrument? I call WW&BW and left a message for someone to get back to me. The alto saxes with the Woodwind name are quite nice. I know 2 people who have ordered them and are real happy with how they play and the quality of the instrument for the price. One of these people is a die hard Buffet supporter, so I value her opinion on instruments and the other chose the Woodwind alto over a Yamaha. I am hoping the bass clarinet is as good. I don't need a professional instrument, but I would like to replace my 20+ year old Bundy. I would also like to know how it compares to a new Bundy or Vito. I am looking at an overhaul on my Bundy and that can be quite expensive. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, SusieQ

Try it and see! My only experience with Woodwind house-brand instruments was about 10 years ago when I bought one of their soprano saxes. It was made in China and was awful. Perhaps their current instruments are better (I sure hope so!).
