 looking for solo piece
Author: andrea

I played a solo accompanied by piano when I was in HS, possibly was classified as a piano clarinet duet. I'd really like to track it down again. The title translated to "smaller and smaller", I remember it as eine-kliene.... something or other. :)

The gist of it was to start with a fully assembled instrument, play a section of the piece, piano chorus, take off a piece of clarinet, play some more, etc until left with just the mouthpiece.

Does anyone remember this piece or know the real title/ composer?

Thanks,
Andrea

The piece is Immer Kleimer...I've played it, have it around somewhere, it's pretty neat. I'll check at school for you unless someone else finds it first...

Thanks, I've been poking around some of the retail sites, but haven't found it yet. It's a relief just to get the name right so I'm not totally in the dark.

There is also a band arrangement with solo clarinet of "Immer Kleiner." The municipal band in Decatur, IL played it one year when I lived there. The name translates as "Ever Smaller."

Who composed "Immer Kleiner"? I've wanted to order it, but I was missing this vital piece of information. Thanks!

I've been searching around, and I think I've hit on Schreiner. I found a sheet music site that had a few listings, but none with any depth of information on difficulty or instrumentation.
