 Selmer reed case
Author: ElBlufer

I recieved the selmer reed case for Chanukkah, and was wondering about three aspects of it. 1: does it fit in the standard case for the Buffet R-13? 2: Do the reeds go in with the tip facing you, or the blank facing you? 3: Hhow much space should there be between reeds? I await your answers.

My Setup:
R13 Clarinet (Ridenour Lyrique as my backup/marching instrument)
Walter Grabner K11 mouthpiece
Rico Reserve 3.5's
Bonade ligature

Can I assume you are talking about the Selmer reed case that is about 3 X 6 inches and has a glass plate in it? If so, I don't think that fits in a standard Buffet case. The flat face of the reed should be placed against the glass. It doesn't seem to matter what the spacing is for the reeds. Hope that helps.

tip should face you.

i don't have an R13 case, but it might help others trying to answer your question if you specify whether you have the case that holds 5 or 10 reeds.

by the way, i really enjoy this reed case. i'm experimenting with placing a rubber band around the case lengthwise to keep it closed - it kind of seems like it's not as closed as i would like it with just the clasps holding it. a friend of mine has the same case and has started using a hair tie for the same reason. also, i've been keeping it in a ziplock freezer bag with a damp sponge. not sure if this is helping, but it hasn't really hurt anything yet. no mold that i can see.
