On Friday December 30, 2005 on cable TV station TCM (Turner Classic Movies) at 8PM Eastern Standard Time the 1945 film Rhapsody in Blue will air. Brooklyn-born George Gershwin drives himself to fame as a composer on Broadway, abroad and in Hollywood. Robert Alda stars as George Gershwin. Paul Whiteman and Hazel Scott also appear. This is a classic film that is certainly worth viewing.

If it's the film I'm thinking of, be sure to switch the channel before that self-righteous announcer completely ruins it for you after the movie ends. (or is he on AMC? In any case, he has a knack for ruining the fun of movies, especially this one)
In any case, I quite liked the movie until just after it ended.

I saw about 45 minutes of it. My relatives got to our house right then and I had to turn the channel. It was pretty cool though and it makes me appreciate Gershwin more than I have.
