My register key is sticking. I've tried putting a piece of paper between the pad and the hole and gently pushing down on the key. This seems to "unstop" it for a while, but sooner or later it starts to stick again. Any suggestions?

Be careful to use a cigarette paper or similar paper that is not abrasive to the pad. Is the pad a bladder pad? If it is try mixing a little "Fantastic" with water (about 15% Fantastic and 85% water). Carefully moisten the pad with a pipe cleaner or other suitable device and then dry with the paper. You probably could stand to take the key off a clean the register vent with a little of the same solution. Swab the bore regularly as a preventative measure. If this doesn't work you probably need to see a repair tech. Some other suggestions will be posted for sure.

Cosmetic shop sells paper called 'end paper'. This paper is used to get rid of oil from face. This is better than mere paper or tobacco paper.

I sometimes use a moistened cloth handkerchief to take off the "stickum", if the pad tears up, just replace it!!, it prob. needs a new one anyway! Don
