Hi All,
Francaix Theme and Variations, final variation. There's a trill from top F to G.
Presently, I'm using a long F (XXX c sharp XXX) and trilling fingers 3 and 4 of the right hand (so the G would be: XOO c sharp XXX) I have also tried trilling the same fingers of the other hand (G being: XXX c sharp XOO) but neither of these give the quality I'm after.
Any other suggestions?

Julian Bliss has recorded it - why not ask him?

If there are so many people on this board unwilling or unable to have a civil and balanced discussion about important issues, then I shan't bother to post here any more.
To the great relief of many of you, no doubt.

I haven't seen Julian since we both left college in June...otherwise I would.
Victoria Soames has also recorded it, but I don't seem to have her number. Shucks.

The standard trill is to use the regular fingering for F and trill with your left middle finger.

Ken's suggestion is the most common, standard solution.
2 other possibilities are:
1. Play the long (closed) F: TR x x x (C#/G#) / x x x
and trill to G by adding the right pinky F/C key,
thus: TR x x x (C#/G#) / x x x (F/C)
2. Play the long (closed) F: TR x x x (C#/G#) / x x x
and trill to G by removing the 3 fingers of the left hand,
thus: TR o o o (C#/G#) / x x x
