I want to thank all of you who sent kind words after the accident with my Kaspar. Allan Segal, thanks again for the barrel--really, really nice. David Blumberg, thanks for the CDs. They made me smile. Walter Grabner, thanks for offering to fix the Kaspar for merely the shipping charges. Too bad it was actually a total loss--but your kindness was greatly appreciated.
And, Walter, condolences on the loss of your mother--she was much more valuable than a Kaspar mouthpiece.

You guys are such a great resorce. The clarinet community that has been formed thanks to Mark and GBK and this board is truly one that encourages its own and helps us to grow as players and people. Thanks everyone!

Glad to help bring a smile. As a 9th grader I had a Selmer Crystal Mouthpiece that I was going to sell to a friend. The night before the sale, I was cleaning it out in the sink and managed to bump the tip on the bottom of the sink (didn't drop it, just bumped it) - it shattered it.

It wasn't rare, was about $30-40 which to a kid back in the 70's was a small hunk of change, but the anguish I felt wouldn't begin to compare to that of Brenda as she knew what she actually had.

Wow, thanks again David. You're a great guy! And, I'm glad you kept my address from that mouthpiece you got from me on e___.

The withdrawal of life support is a tough decision.
Alas the poor mouthpiece.

Perhaps he can donate his tenon so that they can be used as tuning rings.
The gift of life for others.

What an excellent idea! Transplant surgery for instrument parts. I'm willing to donate the Kaspar to a good cause. Perhaps we'll have a contest to see who the best suited patient would be. And, of course, Alseg will have to run those darned compatibility tests.

Re: glass mps, I still have about 2/3 rds of my very OLD O'Brien which I'd like to have restored if at all possible, should have picked up the small pieces back then. I again echo the above sentiments. Don

Thanx, Mark, Don
