Hi all,
I recently purchased a very old, very unique set of Buffet clarinets (sn#'s S681 and S666). Along with the horns came two barrels: one Buffet marked LP and measures 68mm, the other has a very faint marking reading "Chedeville" and measures 65mm.
The makers mark is a dotted-line oval, but some of the right side is completely worn off. Because of this, nothing, besides the words "CHEDEVILLE" and "HIGHEST", is ledgible inside the mark.
I've, of course, heard about Chedeville mouthpieces. Has anyone heard/seen/played a barrel like this?

There was an Edmund Chedeville company that made complete clarinets. I own a Chedeville C clarinet, and a wooden Chedeville mouthpiece.

No luck on the pictures - I can't get the mark to show up.
Other than the description above, the barrel is made out of some kind of hard rubber or plastic. Is there anyplace I can look to compare the mark on my barrel to other "Chedeville" marks?
