I am interested in your opinion of this instrument that is supposedly available only in the Sam Ash stores. I found out about this instrument recently and tried it for a few minutes. My initial impression of it was that is was comparable to the Buffet E-11 Bb clarinet with various improvements. Things that I liked were that the sound was relatively homogeneous through the different registers; the lower register (C and below) was not boomy in sound, which is typical of most pro Buffets; keywork that is silver-plated and very similar to the professional Buffet clarinets in shape, appearance and feel; and a tuning scheme that is accurate and reasonable.
If you have additional praise, information, or problem with the instrument please reply. At a price of just under $1000, this seems like a good deal for serious students in high school and college.

If you like the instrument, and it is a good one, that's all you need to know about it. The Brook Mays Co. has one like that they call the "Limite." It 's a bit cheaper than the R-13 and more than the E-11 with silver-plated keywork. I don't know anyone who owns one, so can't give that kind of recommendation--but if you like it buy it.
