With respect to the vast models LeBlanc has produced over its 250 year history. What models would be considered "big bore". To my knowledge they are perhaps in part the Dynamique and the Pete Fountain models. Are there otherr too?

The LL has a slightly larger bore than some of their line, as does the L7. The Pete Fountain is the largest that I'm aware of.

YES, We have discussed Leblanc's "bore-size" history a number of times, model names and bores [and configurations {departures from cylindrical}] are posted in our archives, please Search. The earliest Leb "big-bores" [defined by me and others as 15.0 mm dia. and more?] I know of are the Dynamics, [Classics?] of the '50's,, the Dyn H, and then the Pete F's series. Selmer [their CTs in partic.] and some Boosey & Hawkes [1010's] and Conns [4xx series] were also "biggies", and had the reputation of being "Jazz cls". Of those I own and have familiarity with, I've found they are "all-around" cls, just depending on the Player, the music and audience. Don

I have both a Dynamique and an LL which I play all of the time. The only difference I can tell is one has silver plated keys and the other german silver.
Oh yes, the Dynamique is a bit flatter on over blown open G. Both measure 14.8mm at about .5 inch into the middle of the upper joint's bore. I really do not think of these as "big bore" horns.

Dear chazman; the LL has a bore specified as slightly smaller than their Normany model (14.84mm, right?), so not that small. The Dynamique that Pete Fountain used to play had the really good long pipe clarion C and B tones, better projection, while the Symphony was not so good there. I would not be surprised if another one has the same borings as the Pete Fountain, the large bore (15mm as measured) Vito V40 flagship of the plastic models. It was replaced by the polycylinder small bore model V40 two years ago. I have the former, the last of the best. Lucky Me. Go Attack the Rain Forest, Sorry, Ken

Luis Rossi http://www.rossiclarinet.com/ has introduced some additional models. Under "Larger Bore," he now makes a 15.0 mm. E.J. Albert copy, a 15.2 mm. B&H 1010 copy and a 15.2 mm. Vienese Koktan copy, all with Boehm keywork.
They will need special mouthpieces to play in tune, but should be excellent.
