By chance, does anyone out there have a recording of this work that was made at the ICA Clarinetfest in Salt Lake City? I really would like a recording of the work if I could dind it. Thanks.

While we're at it, has anyone seen/heard a recording (LP) by David Campbell (who also performed the Sonata at ICA) of this(?) Sonata plus Steptoe's clarinet quintet. It was on the Phoenix (UK) label. It's been on my "holy grail" list of recordings for years since I saw it listed in a catalog years ago. When I tried to order it, I was told it was unavailable. Later, trying to track it down, I was told it may never have been released but that the clarinetist had copies (or perhaps the master tape - this was quite awhile ago so my memory is cloudy). Part of the problem is that, for a long time, I was looking for the wrong Campbell (James instead of David - the catalog may have only listed "Campbell" as the clarinetist).
Another wrinkle, the following website::
< http://www.impulse-music.co.uk/rogersteptoe/>
gives the Sonata's date of composition as 2003. I'm sure the catalog listing I saw was back in the 1980's (before CD's or while they were in their infancy).
The sheet music is available from the composer (the website gives an e-mail address). Perhaps he has a recording that he will send along if you request it. In my experience composers often do.
Best regards,
jnk
