Please forgive me for making light of a fellow clarinetist's diminishing career opportunities, but I just couldn't let the reference to Mozart's "Gran Pastita" slip by! I wonder if there is a movement labeled "Pesto, ma non troppo?"
Also puzzled by the reference to Larry Combs teaching at Northwestern; was he ever actually on the faculty there?

A lovely dish prepared with farfale and topped with truffles and a delicious Gran Marnier reduction.
LC's on tour with the symphony here in NYC right now so I doubt he'll jump in and answer, but if memory serves (fellow NU alumns please weigh in here) he was on faculty at Northwestern prior to Marcellus' arrival and left not long after. Predates my time there (mid-80's).

The particular writer of the column was focusing on the socioeconomics of freelancers, esp. in light of the Ballet switching to taped music.
The regular classical music writer (Andrew Druckenbrod) would not make that error.
Actually I prefer my "pastita" with light olive oil and freshly grated Romano and asaggio. Of course, it must be al-dente.

Counting the minutes until Dan Leeson writes in with the corrected title:

I didn't think Dan had ever posted here. Am I wrong?

He posts on http://www.woodwind.org/clarinet/Klarinet/Postings.html
And lest we forget, we must have a libation to go with the Pastita (Pastitta) such as Kegelstatt, which is NOT a bowling game, but is really the name of a local brew, a Pilsner of great repute....Keg 'o' Statt

Tony,
if you perform a search of his name limited to the Clarinet Bulletin Board, you might fight out the answer to your question. Unless he posts under a pseudonym.

I'd done that -- but a more careful search finds Mark Charette saying that Dan has never posted here.
I've sometimes wanted to read the entire profile of a particular poster, both here and on the Klarinet list; but it's difficult wading through mentions of the name by other posters. You don't seem to be able to search on just the author's name.

Tony,
some posters wish to remain anonymous; others are happy to reveal detailed profiles; and still others are already well known
I recall that there was once a thread that asked posters to provide info about their background (mostly the professions of non-professional clarinetists); it was semi-interesting
maybe GBK or Mark can find that particular thread
in the end, though, profiles and biographies of posters here are less important that the subject and content of the posts

You misunderstand me: by 'entire profile' I meant all the posts by a particular someone, not any background or biography.

I see. I think you can do that by searching the person's username ("Author").
You might get more than just that person's posts, but you'd at least get
those.
For example, by searching "From: Tony Pay" I came up with 343 hits, although I notice that you've only posted about 185 times to the Bboard. I didn't go through them all, but I'd wager that all 185 of your posts and most of the responses to them are included in the 343 hits. That would provide a reasonable profile of you.
But right now I'm too busy listening to the the Abuction from the Seraglio to worry about these issues (Wunderlich singing "Wenn der Freude Traene fliessen" - herrlich! and that clarinet writing - yum!)
