I bought a clarinet at the flea-market a while back with the markings of e lerue on it. It was heavily used, the key work being badly tarnished, and a couple of the body rings were falling off. The wood was still fairly good, except for a crack in the bell. I was told that it was the person's grandmothers, probably sitting in the attic forever, exposed to the heat and cold. My question was who were they, where were they from, and was it a quality instrument that they made (what was their history). Currently i am getting it restored, and i can't really remember much in detail about the looks of the instrument, besides the serial number was within the first 3000 i think. I am new to buying used clarinets and fixing them up, but i am starting to get the hang of it. Hopefully someone will be able to fill me in a little bit. OH, i only paid 20 dollars for it, so hopefully i got a good deal.
