Anyone,
I am trying to find any information on a
Penzel-Mueller clarinet ARTIST model, made in
Long Island,New York.
The clarinet has an eagle above the word ARTIST
and it is made of genuine Grenadilla wood.
The mouth piece has a Guy Hawkins signature on it.

Any help would be most appreciated.

It sounds to me as if you have an excellent mouthpiece and a good, playable, older, wood? clarinet. There have been many threads-posts on PM here, I suggest you review them. A good friend is re-finding out that his PM Artist is a dern good clar, however he has not asked to play my newer Leblanc!! Don

Anyone have any idea when?
1. They were manufactured
2. What they cost then and now.
3. Where to sell it?

Penzel-Mueller clarinet "Artist" model?

Do a search right here on the BBoard. There's information on the company.

What they cost now? In most cases, well under a hundred dollars. What did they cost then? I don't know, but I'll bet (based on the dates & prevailing economy) around a hundred dollars.

Where to sell them? Here on Sneezy (Classifieds), eBay and other auction places.

Clarinets as a whole tend to depreciate in financial value, not appreciate.

Ha, I forgot I had an Artist, ser. no. L-670-B which I "date"?? at about 1950. I have also an old 1920's full Boehm, my first good one, from my first teacher who played it in SILENT movie theaters !!! To me the Art. has minimal [$200?] value even with its playing well. Don
