I find the pieces in Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier very moving. Do others have the same reaction? Is sheet music for the clarinet available?

Can't imagine playing them on the clarinet!

If you want to play Bach, try arranging selected two-part or three-part inventions, the Art of Fugue, or maybe some of the organ music.

My personal favourite of the WTC is the D-major prelude from the second book. Maybe "moving" would be the wrong word, but certainly exhilarating.

If there are so many people on this board unwilling or unable to have a civil and balanced discussion about important issues, then I shan't bother to post here any more.

To the great relief of many of you, no doubt.

There are a number of excellent Bach compilations arranged for solo clarinet and in clarinet duet form.

As far as I am aware, none contain any of the WTC pieces.

If you want to examine some of Bach solo violin, solo cello or selected clavier pieces, etc... you could purchase:

Bach for the Clarinet transcribed and edited by Ronald Caravan (Ethos Publications)

Classical Studies for Clarinet transcribed and edited by Voxman (Rubank, Inc)

There are others as well ...GBK
