 Bassclarinett & Organ?
Author: matthiAS

Hello,
I mainly play saxophone. In the near future I will play concerts in church together with organ. I'd like to perform some tunes with bassclarinett, but I don't know what tunes to play. Any recommendations?

thank you

I think the first part of the 3rd movement of the Saint Saens clarinet sonata would sound really nice with organ accompaniment - it sound like an organ chorale to me. The second half of that movement might be tough on bass clarinet because of the register, though. Wouldn't work if those notes are stuffy on your instrument as they often are on bass.

The slow movement of the Bozza concerto works very well with organ. I'm not sure how the clarinet part, down an octave on bass clarinet, would sound, but certainly worth a try.
