Does anybody know of ligatures that work well with Pomarico mouthpieces. I have been having trouble finding ones that will even fit on the mouthpiece. I use a Rovner with my rubber mouthpiece but it is just a little too tight to use on the Pomarico which is a sapphire bright model. Thanks a lot, Cathy

I have a Pomarico Ruby and I use (of all things)a Selmer Paris ligature on it and get very good results. It does spread enough to fit the m'piece with no problem. I normally prefer inverted ligatures but I do not have one that will fit well on the Pomarico, and being a cheapskate at heart I decided to try each of the 10 or so ligs I had before trying to find something new. I was very pleasantly surprised, but that Selmer Paris ligature, there's something about it. It seems to work well no matter what m'piece I try it on and for the life of me I can't figure out why. Other than being silver plated, there seems to be nothing at all special about it.
You may also want to examine wht type of reeds you use. I use Vandoren V12s which are a little bit thicker than many others and this can also make it tough to find a ligature that fits well.

Cathy,
I use Pomarico crystal mouthpieces on both bass and soprano clarinets, and I use the Rovner (original-type) ligature with both. I'm perfectly happy with that setup. (For what it's worth, I also use the Rovner ligatures on my alto and tenor saxes, and even use Rovner's metal mouthpieces on those saxes. And no, I have no affiliation whatsoever with Rovner, although Phil Rovner is in the Baltimore area where I lived for a short time).

I found that for my older Selmer Clarion [glass] mp, a Bonade inverted lig fit well and satisfied me tone-wise. I believe my Clarion is slightly larger than the usual hard rubber mp, dont know about the Pom., but agree re: consider the reed thickness also. Don

Hi folks!
I recently bought the "light" Pomarico Ligature and a BG...they both work well on my crystal Pomarico mpc.
I consider that the ligature is not that important, what really does the "job" is the mouthpiece itself...that's my opinion!
Bye
Luis
