 New trad/Dixieland Transcriptions
Author: ken

Attachment:  Washington and Lee.pdf (1167k)
Attachment:  Dippermouth Blues.pdf (669k)

As a courtesy reminder to those not participating in the recent High Society thread and discussion for the need of (or lack of) solo jazz clarinet transcriptions here is my current volunteer batch of scripted works taken from live/studio recordings 2001-2005. More will post as "project previews" of an in-the-works trad/Dixie Omnibook compilation.

Why am I doing this? I am electively and freely making my intellectual property available for initial release and use of the Woodwind.org clarinet community as an educational tool, for private entertainment and as a personal gift. Those serious jazz students interested in obtaining the accompanying audio tracks to my solo work may email me at kkolb@cfl.rr.com.

Previously posted transcriptions, "High Society" and "A Night in Tunisia" may be downloaded as PDFs at below link: (see last post)

And for those interested in these mundane kinds of things, my primary influences are: Jack Maheu, Pete Fountain, Harold Cooper, Mike Sizer, Tim Laughlin and Andy Sherwood ... and me.

Enjoy. More to come with God's grace. v/r Ken

Ken, I would certainly be interested in getting the Trad Jazz/Dixie compilation when it is completed. I'm a Trad Jazzer in California.

Thanks so much!

Ken, MANY thanks for your contributions! They're greatly appreciated and bring back many memories. I certainly do enjoy playing this stuff, (or at least trying). :-)) .... perhaps a little slower than the indicated tempo ....

I would also like to get a copy of the compilation when it's completed. And, speaking of recordings ..... are any of the CDs available?

Thanks,
Joe.

Ken:
Thank you very much. Add me in to those interested in the compilation when available. You listed some wonderful musicians; have you had an opportunity to listen to Ryan Burrage or Doreen Ketchums?

Rich
