The Kennedy Center Opera Keeps Live Music
Author: Ken Shaw 2017

It took a strike, but the Kennedy Center Opera has agreed to use live music instead of electronics, at least for the term of the new contract. See http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/17/AR2005101701376.html (requires free registration, obnoxious popup ad).

Long live live music.

Contrary to Ken Shaw's posting, there was no strike at the Kennedy Center! The Kennedy Center is home to both the Opera House Orchestra and the National Symphony. Michael Kaiser, its president, is a paragon of musician-friendly administration (his father played in the New York Philharmonic).
