The Clarinet BBoard

I saw a post on ebay claiming that a 1.5 cm bore is large. (They listed it in inches but it is exactly 1.5 cm) I then measured all three of my clarinets, an H Meinl A clarinet, a Leblanc Dynamic 2 Bb, and an Evette Bb. All three have 1.5 cm bore.
I'm interested if people would be so kind to post the model of your clarinet and the bore diameter. I'm interested to learn what they are.

Mine is 1.5 cm at the top end and 2.3 cm at the end of the 2nd section(as it enters the Bell). Clarinet is one I've never been able to trace: Fairfield made by E.U. Wurlitzer of Boston, Ma.

Manufacturer's take the bore size measurement at the middle joint. dont forget about whats happening in tapers
above and below that measuring point. This is only one way to compare clarinets...you still need to play them to
determine the quality.

Thanks Mark but the name is definitely "E.U. not "E.H."
Strange though. It's hard to believe there could be two Wurlitzers in Boston . I believe the Boston shop of Wurlitzers was bought out by a European Company.I would like your info on the E.H. though.

There's a listing for the Wurlitzer family, Boston, Chicago, and Cincinatti. No specific info other than some bibliographic references - so nothing really available.
E. H. Wurlitzer was a flute maker in Boston from 1890-1911, with other WWs possible. Patented a flute head joint device (#859714) in 1907. Bettony bought a controlling interest in his co. in 1901.

???? No - if I remember right, that was the German Wurlitzer Co., not the MA/OH Wurlitzers.

I got an article in ´rohrblatt which compares two clarinets with different bore made by one manufacturer. The dimensions:
upper joint, upper tenon: 15.00 / 14.85 mm
upper joint, lower tenon: 14.90 / 14.65 mm
lower joint, lower tenon: 21.85 / 21.70 mm
little differences in dimensions, but a remarkable difference in sound.
