does anyone know what instrumentation this show calls for or what the doubles are, if any, are needed? maybe a question john j. moses could answer.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

Reed 1 Clarinet, Flute, Piccolo

Reed 2 Clarinet, Flute, Oboe

Reed 3 Clarinet, English Horn, Flute, Oboe

Reed 4 Bass Clarinet, Clarinet

Reed 5 Bassoon

GBK is correct!
The clarinet book is usually Reed 4, so your only double is Bass clarinet.
The first clarinet parts, as I best remember, are in Reed 1, but that requires good flute chops also. If you're mainly a clarinetist, stick with the Reed 4 book.
