 Hite Bass Clarinet Mouthpiece

Hi everyone,

I am struggling with a decision, and I thought I would ask everyone here. I play on a Hite pro bass clarinet mouthpiece in high school band. (it is what my band director bought for me to use when the really horrible one I was using litterally broke in two as I twisted it out of the neck- the whole bottom of it had broken off once and been glued by somebody a long time before that) I really love this mouthpiece- it has made a huge improvement in my overall sound and tone, and just made everything a whole lot easier. It has only ever been mine- we only have a few bass players at our school, one girl owns her own bass, and the other uses another school bass who's keywork is better suited to her hand size, so no one else has used my clarinet or mouthpiece- and I have kept it well cared for and I know nothing bad has ever happened to it.

With what has happened with the Hite company, I'm wondering if I should buy this mouthpiece from the school, since from what I have heard, it will be difficult to replace this mouthpiece if I wanted one at a later time...

Thanks,
Becca
