 Legere Reeds for Bass Clarinet
Author: SusieQ

After many years of using #3 Plasticover reeds on my bass clarinet, Rico is discontinuing all their Plasticover reeds according to WW&BW. I have been wanting to switch to something else anyway, because the quality of the Plasticover reeds has gone downhill fast. I ordered a Legere plastic reed in a #2.5 and a box of Vandorn #3 reeds. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as to how the strength I ordered in these reeds somewhat corresponds to the #3 Plasticovers. Thanks in advance for your help.

The Legere soprano reeds that I have tend to get a bit soft after they warm up. The reeds that I have grade out to be roughly equal to standard Vandoren reeds, strength for strength.
